A relaxed one-day plan where you can enjoy the charm of Yokosuka
through Military Ports, Sarushima, and Dobuita Street sightseeing.

10:00〜

Shioiri Station

After exiting the Shioiri station gates, it's only a 5 minute walk down the footbridge to the recent Yokosuka landmark "Coaska Bayside Stores", fullys renovated in 2020.

Shioiri Terminal(Inside Coaska Bayside Stores)

The Shioiri terminal, where you can purchase Yokosuka Military Port Tour tickets, is located on the 2nd floor of "Coaska Bayside Stores".
After purchasing your 11:00a.m. departure tickets, you can enjoy browsing the souvenir corner while you await the departure. There you can find the Japanese Maritime Self Defense Force curry series,
including real "ship" replicating recipes, as well as ship themed pin badges, submarine shaped ball pens, and other unique items.
They also sell alcohol. *We recommend booking your Military Port Tour tickets in advance via internet or by phone.

10:45〜

Cruise of YOKOSUKA Naval Port

If you want to spend some time with the Military Port Guides, you should head to the 1st floor guest room. If you're more interested in seeing ships, you should head to the 2nd floor deck.
Japanese Maritime Self Defense Force and U.S. Navy ships which can't typically be seen make an impactful sight.
Depending on the time of year, the ships at anchor change, and each tour features a different tour guide, so you can really enjoy a unique experience at any time.
Even if you don't know anything about Military Ports yourself, the guides will teach you interesting facts in easy to understand ways, so everyone from children to adults can enjoy the experience.

11:00〜

Shioiri Pier

Exiting the Shioiri Terminal, you'll head straight to the Shioiri Pier.
Seats on the ship are first come, first served, so to get a good seat we recommend lining up early.

12:15〜

Special Yokosuka lunch

If you love vegetables, try "Kagiroi", which specializes in local Yokosuka and Miura Peninsula vegetables.
If you love meat, try "Sumibiyaki Tiger", which uses specially selected meats.
You can also enjoy craft beer made from local ingredients at "Yokosuka Beer".
Each restaurant offers exquisite cuisine which has been painstakingly perfected.
Each of the locations can easily be accessed from the Shioiri terminal by a short, 15-minute walk.

14:00〜

Mikasa Terminal / Sarushimi Visitor Center

Ater enjoying a special Yokosuka lunch, you'll head to the uninhabited island Sarushima which floats in the Tokyo Bay.
After a 10-minute walk, you'll arrive at the Mikasa Terminal / Sarushimi Visitor Center.
Completed in July of 2020, Mikasa Terminal's first floor features a ticket center, cafe, and souvenir corner. On the second floor, there is an exhibition of objects related to Sarushima.。
If you have your ticket stub from the Military Port Tour, you can purchase the JPY 1,400 round-way ticket at the discounted price of JPY 1,000.
After purchasing your 2:30p.m. departure ticket, you can spend some time relaxing while looking through souvenirs and the Sarushima exhibition.

14:30〜

Sarushima

From the Mikasa Pier right in front of Mikasa Terminal, it takes 10 minutes by ship to reach Sarushima. Sarushima,
used as a fortress since the end of Edo period.
Feautirng beautiful brick arches and tunnels, artillery battery remains cut into the terrain, and more, you can take a slow stroll through the area which feels as if you've gone back in time.
After your stroll, you can enjoy a drink from Sarushima's take-out restaurant, "Sarushima Ocean's Kitchen" while you walk about the beach or wooden decks.
You can take in the cityscape of Yokosuka on the opposite side of the bay at this incredible spot.

16:30〜

Dobuita Street

After returning to Mikasa Terminal from sarushima, you'll head to the real Yokosuka where you can really feel the local culture,
Dobuita Street. After World War II, the area prospered as a U.S. military town, and you can experience an exotic shopping street where English alphabet stands out among the signs.
The name Dobuita Street comes from the Dobu River, which used to flow directly down the middle of the street.
Here you can find Sukajan jackets, synonymous with Yokosuka. The Yokosuka classic Yokosuka Navy Burger.
Military Shops only found in a Military Port Town. Please enjoy the unique atmosphere and culture, so different from typical daily life, which can only be found here on Dobuita Street.

18:00〜

Yokosuka Beer

Let's enjoy the nightlife in Yokosuka with Dobuita Street's #1 recommendation, "Yokosuka Beer".
It's a beer hall with an attached brewery where they brew craft beer with an emphasis on using local Yokosuka and Miura Peninsula ingredients. You can enjoy a wide variety of freshly brewed Yokosuka beer.
Their flagship beer, "Dobuita Happy", is a well balanced draft. Additionally,
you can enjoy unique and delicious beer such as Ginger Beer made from ginger produced locally in Yokosuka, or other rare beer such as a variety which uses Shiitake mushrooms.
Try their beer alongside their signature seafood dishes or meat platters for a truly delicious experience.
